Other Some important Tips of AUTOCAD
Tip 1. The Command “Laydel”. This will allow you to delete everything on a layer, even the most stubborn of layers. Won’t delete “Layer 0” or “Defpoints”.
Tip 2. When doing a corner use the fillet command. Instead of typing in a radious of “0”, you can just hold the “shift” key to automatically get a corner.
Tip 3. You can select and move multiple grips by holding down the shift key.
Tip 4. System default PEDITACCEPT. Set this to “1”. This will get rid of that annoying prompt when converting a line to a polyline.
Tip 5. Command “Texttofront”. brings all text to front
Tip 6. Command “Hatchtoback”. Guess what this does!

Specific AutoCAD Tips to Improve Productivity
Templates
Create One Drawing Template with all your favourite settings for Text Styles, Dimension Styles, Leader Styles, Common Layers. Keep developing this template until you get all your favourite settings right. Some people have several templates but it is preferred to just make one Master Template. Not necessary to create many templates which will confuse you, just One Master Template will do. You can use the 'Purge All' commands later to remove any unwanted or unused settings once your dwg is completed.
You can use 'insert block' command forrlowed by 'oops' command to insert and drawing templates into any existing drawings. This will import alll settings like layers, textstyle, etc inot your existing drawing without important any other detail drawings. Useful if the Template Dwg are prepared blank with only settings.
You can set your AutoCAD to load your Template Dwg everytime a New Drawing is called by changing the 'Option' 'Template' 'Default Template' setting. You will have your favourite setup ready to go in an instant.
Title Blocks
Create One or More Title Blocks in 1:1 scale for A1 size drawing. You can also have A3, and A4 in simplified format. Note that the A1 can be plot to A3. Insert this as X-ref at 1:1 scale at 0,0 for use in current working drawing. Scale up the Title Block X-referenced to suit current.
Text & Dimension Styles
Set all Text Styles, Dimension Styles, Leader Styles to ANNOTATIVE, and use the Annotative Scaling Icon to Scaled Text, Dimensions, Leaders to the correct sizes for plotting. Plotting in Paperspace to the Annotative scale will be easier.
Common Font Types
Choose common Fonts for Text, such as Romand, Arial, so sharing files would be easier. Chose those with bolder lines so plotting will give clearer text. Avoid complicated Font Types or thin font type
Text Sizes
Text Type and Sizes are always an issue with Cad drawings. Keep them simple is better than having complex text types and colors.
Text Size - Set text size to minimum 2 mm (or better 2.5 mm height). When you plot in A3 from A1 drawing, the 2 mm text will come up small, use of 2.5 mm would be better seen. For Others you can set 3mm for emphasis, 4mm & 5mm Sub-Titles & Titles.
Quick Tips For Autocad
Text Width - Set normal text width to 0.9 so slimmer text can write more. For Bold Text set width to 1.0
Text Type - use Romand (or Arial)-for standard text, 2 mm or 2.3mm text size, Romantic (or Arial Bold)-for 3mm - 4 mm text size. Use Vendana Bold for Sub Titles and Titles.
Text Color - preferably to use One Color for all text, the size & boldness can be set via Text Type. I would reserve White Color for dimension lines and normal lines drawing, so choose a color 255 which is also 'white' as Text would come up against a white background and chhose pen size 2 mm would solve most cases.
Annotative - ensure text style are Annotative.
Dynamic Input Distracting
Turn Dynamic Input Icon OFF so all commands is entered at the bottom LHS Command Line. You can toggle Dynamic Input Icon if you need to see the dynamic input data in action.
Grid Lines Distracting
Turn GRID OFF in model space and paperspace, can be annoying for some people
Don't Want to Print Viewport Borders?
Create a Non-Print Layer for Viewports in Paperspace, and turn printing OFF. I normally named this layer 'Viewports'. This will ensure that the viewport boundary lines are not plotted.

Set Snap Settings to END, INT as default
Quick Select
Use the mouse right-click to quick select any objects filter so can change them one go. Useful for many changes
X-reference
Use X-Ref for Title Blocks or any other Drawings which is done by Others or which you just need for reference. Use OVERLAY is default as we do not want this x-ref dag to appear in other drawings when being x-referenced again.
X-reference is a very useful & powerful feature and do make effort to master the use for anything 'standard'
Master Drawings
Draw on One Master Drawing. This will ensure everything is in one place. Ensure your computer have at sufficient speeds and RAM.
Printing Default
Print in PDF to Black, and file name should be same as name of drawings
Plot Styles
Create Plot Style & Printer Settings so all you Plot will be standardise. Make A1 and A3 Styles different. Use minimum autocad default colors, for all purposes, and choose a few unique colors for specific objects

Create your Own Workspace and put most common commands together. Those not common commands leave it out, as you can easily look for them later.
AutoLisps & Automation
Create your Own Autolisps Command and preload all common programs. If your RAM is big, load all.
UCS & PAPERSPACE
When you draw in Model Space, the objects can be orientated in any direction. Usually Plan, Left, Right, Rear Elevations and sections, dran by projecting lines. You can set USC specific to each object orientation by 'UCS'..'PLAN' thus making annotation or detailing easier if object is facing UP. You can restore to default orientation by typing 'UCS' .'WORLD'.
This feature is very useful when in Paperspace you can set individual papespace UCS so all the object drawing can be orientated UP or in any direction you want simply by going into each view port and set its 'UCS' to you preferred orientation, usually UP and enter 'PLAN'
